so im wondering why i cant use all 10GB of my ram. ive recently put together my first PC parts from my old PC (Hard drive and optical and 4GB and 2GB ram) and parts i ordered online ( another 4GB ram and every thing else) and ive also upgraded from windows 7 to 8.1. and i have 4 ram slots when i go to the task manager and under performance it says 10.0 GB DDR3 but then where it shows the graph it only shows 6.0GB and then when i look at the current usage it says xx / 6.0 GB. it shows 3 slots out of 4 are in use. slot 1 slot 3 slot 4 (accidentally skipped slot 2) i tried to do the run >ms config>boot thing i believe it changed from from 6 - 4 GB available after the restart and now its back to 6.
installed 10GB ram and only 6GB usable?
