That RAM is good. Corsair makes good memory modules.

More ram basically means more the computer can memorize, which makes it faster. If you don't have enough memory, the PC stores temporary data on the hard drive to use(virtual memory). The hard drive is a slower device then RAM, and you'll notice it.
Newer games and programs requires more memory space, 8gigs is recommended these days.
