The motherboard is not SLI compatible. Here's a review: http://www.anandtech.com/show/6360/asus-f2a85v-pro-review-a-look-at-fm2-with-a85x
Review:
This gives each board using an FM2 APU the ability to do at least x16/x4 or x8/x8/x4 (with A85X) without the cripple we see with Intel. In Intel's variation, we saw Crossfire work but SLI not, due to the odd combination of SLI certification required.

Note: The AMD 760K will bottleneck the GTX 970 in some games. That CPU is not powerful enough in modern games. You'll get a good amount of fps in some games but the CPU will always be the first limiting factor.

You can either:
Get the 970 and buy a new processor/motherboard
or
Get a lower end card that is realistically more suitable for the 760K (like the R9 270X)

If you can, get the GTX 970(or a R9 290) and save up for an i5 and new motherboard. It doesn't have to be right now, in the meantime you can use the 760K machine.

It's about the same price an i5 4690K. I would say no, that CPU has a serious heat output and to find a compatible motherboard you'll spend allot.

This is a good combo.
CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor (£167.50 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£91.16 @ Scan.co.uk)
Total: £258.66
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

If it exceeds your budget you can get a 8350/AMD motherboard instead.
