Hard drive total space is smaller than it should be

So, recently I got myself a new CPU, and mobo, so I decided to do a full reinstallation of windows. I had no problem with my main hard drive, on which Windows is installed (windows 7), but my secondary hard drive (which I use to store my movies, music etc) was 'corrupted'. Windows said I needed to format it, and I did just that, 'cause I could just download the stuff that was on that dirve, but once I did that, my 1TB hard drive was only 200 GB anymore. So yeah, I don't know what happened there, I've looked at the partitions, and it just says that there is 1 partition, and that it's 200 GB large. On a sidenote: There was 200 GB of data stored on the hard drive before it got corrupted and formatted.

Can anyone help with this?
Thanks!

it is saying there are 232gb of space and 1024kb unallocated.

might be a problem with the drive itself if it says 1tb on the label and diskpart isnt picking it up.

diskpart can format the drives etc when explorer cant

click start

right-click on computer

click manage.

on the window that popped up click "disk management"

find your disk in that list then delete the paritions on there then make one.

if this doesnt work then it will have to be through disk part through cmd

So, once you delete it, it says that the space isn't allocated.
I create a new partition, and then I can choose how large it will be, but the maximum space I can allocate to the new partition is still only 232.88 GB...
So it didn't really work.

Thanks for trying though :)

It says 232 GB, but in the cmd, it also says that only 1024 kb are 'free', on my other drive it says 0 kb is 'free'. I guess this means how much of it is actually partitioned?
When I go to the 'my pc' screen where all me drive stations and hard drives are displayed, it says that there are 232 Gb available. Why would the cmd say the exact opposite then?

And I'm convinced that it was a 1TB hard drive, it says so on the drive itself. "Seagate Barracuda 1TB hard drive"

So I think something went wrong during the formatting, or before it.

Anything else I can try?
