My first gaming build, is it OK?

The title explains itself pretty much. The thing is that I want to build a gaming machine and I wonder if there is any room for improvement without exceeding my budget ($1700).

I require this machine to run games (BF4, COD) in highest graphic quality and also I want it to be future-proof for at least 3-4 years.

P.S.: I am an idiot in building machines so I beg you guys not to tease me or scold me if I mention something wrong, thank you!

Well since you didn't put the proper link here are some suggestions: for $1700 dollars get 2 970's in SLI and get an i7 4790k. If there is still room get 16gb of RAM. Get a beefy reliable PSU like XFX, Seasonic or Antec. This build is built to game probably 5-7 years depending on the games to come out on that year since there's one game now that requires 6gb VRAM (Which is Ridiculous). Anyway if you think you're build is better than this then feel free to ignore this. All in all it fits SPOT ON the budget and fits your needs.

Edit: I don't know the case you chose so just put that in here. probably gonna exceed budget so go with 1tb if it's right for you.

Before this get's out of hand with tons of builds, answer a few more questions.

1. Does that budget also include peripherals? (Monitor, mouse keyboard etc)
2. Does that budget also include an OS?
3. Do you want to overclock? (Overclocking is increasing the speed of components beyond their standard parameters. There's little performance change when overclocking, it's more of a hobby now)
4. What state do you live in? There is this awesome store called MicroCenter that has outrageous deals. If you live near one, I would recommend traveling to one when buying parts.
5. When do you plan on building the PC? (this month, 3 months etc)

1. The list already includes a monitor, and I think I don't need to include keyboard or mouse
2. Yes, with Windows 8.1
3. Yes, I'd like to OC a little bit
4. Actually, I'm living in Hong Kong
5. Maybe in November or December
