Hello, i recently bought a Sapphire dual x r9 270x, i did not check my system before hand since i bought it pre built. i didnt know that i only had 1 6pin connector since it was only running a hd radeon 7790. Should i return the card and replace it for a r9 270 or upgrade my PSU.

You should replace your PSU. Pre-built PSUs are always cheapos anyways. Make sure your new PSU has 2 x 6 pins though! :)

Oh, I'm surprised you got a CM in a pre-built!

I'd recommend this one:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817438012

I have the 750 B2, and it's flawless. It's fairly cheap on sale, and you get free shipping!

I'd personally pay the extra to get this one:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/EVGA-Supernova-BRONZE-MODULAR-Supply/dp/B00LMAUZ5C/ref=sr_1_8?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1417301580&sr=1-8&keywords=evga+750

Again it's on sale on Amazon.uk

It's semi-modular, which means that the non-needed cables can be put aside and not hang around in your case, and there is 4 x (6+2) pins connectors. If ever your decide to go SLI or even get an higher-tier GPU, you'll be able to convert the 6 pins to 8 pins connectors.

An XFX 550W or Seasonic 520W power supply.
