PSU Haswell incompatibility question

Stupid situation happened to me. I thought to get Antec EA-650 PSU, but was recommended to get 750w unit. As I was buying it with Newegg and there is an option to choose wattage, I chose Antec EA-750. I naively hoped it's the same as 650, but it doesn't support Haswell. 650 does, this one doesn't. So, there are only 4 pins for +12v. Maybe there is some Molex to 8pin +12v connector? I found one to 4pin, will this work? I found Haswell compatible PSU for $20 more, but I want to build for as low as I can, having all best parts for money.

My current build is $1184, don't want to go over $1200.

Sorry to hear about your situation. There are 4 pin to 8pin cpu adaptors. You should be able to run it with only four though as long as you aren't overlocking yet. If you disable deep sleep options you may be okay with that power supply, but don't quote me on that.

I may be overclocking, but not any time soon. I think if I will ever do it, it'll happen in 2-3 years. By that time, I might get a decent PSU. For now, however, I won't overclock, but still I need a good PSU and 8pin

Right now I have only 1 concern: if I can convert either 1 4pin or several molex to 8pin connector. If it is safe, will be as good as having 8pin, and everything related. It may seem as several concerns, but it's all about one.

BTW, my config is:
i5 4690K
Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SLI
1.5V memory
Asus R9290-DC2OC-4gd5
4 case fans

And I want Platimun only. Among PSUs I trust Corsair, Thermaltake and Antec. First 2 are expensive.

How many times should I repeat? I am on the tightest budget. I already have a build for $1184, but I basically can't spend more than $1200. So if I exchange the PSU, it should be no more than $115. Yet good. You may advertise any brand, but unless you can somehow prove it is a good PSU AND will spare me $40, I will definitely buy Seasonic you advertise.

Hi, our EA-750 Green is Haswell-compatible. If you face any issue, you can deactivate the C6/C7 sleep states in your UEFI/BIOS settings.
For the connector, the PSU has a 8(4+4)-pin CPU connector (=convertible as 4 or 8-pin), so you don't need any adaptor.

It is (/was) stated that it's not green, but Platinum. Clear words, "Haswell support: No"

So it's either Newegg screwed something up, or I was blind enough to have read that.

For now, I'll just wait for the box to arrive and then see if it is Haswell compatible, and if so, I'll contact Newegg. If not - whom do I contact? Antec...

BTW, I thought EA is something like EarthWatts (not sure what it means though) but 80+ standard is not a part of model name/number, but is written after it instead.

Just now visited Antec, and it clearly states that there is a 8pin connector. That is why I want to receive it and then see if it is Haswell compatible/has 8pin connector and that way I will make 100% sure it is. Otherwise, I can't say. And of course I will let you all know.
