If i was to build a PC how good could it get for 700-800$? just wondering. thanks for any help you can give!

It all depends on the parts, are you planning on gaming, web-browsing or what are you doing with it? For $700-800 you can generally go somewhat mid end to high end. A prebuilt that price will get you NOWHERE near what you can build for a PC for the same price. Some prebuilts can be more expensive and still be trumped by computers that are custom that are much less for the price. Most gaming PCs are generally in the $700-$1000 line.

If you are doing a gaming build, put a large portion of your budget on the GPU, the GPU chip (Graphics card) will do all of your graphics work, don't go too cheap on your other components. Then you need a CPU that won't bottleneck the GPU, and overall will leave you with good performance. I recommend atleast 8GB of RAM for gaming, 4-6 works fine for some games, but you'll be pushing it. Make sure you get a nice PSU that is reliable and powerful, and a good motherboard is always nice.
