Fan setup good or bad?

Well I've never worried about fan setup before, But It'd be nice to know if there's a "correct" way of setting up fans... How do the general gaming community/pc enthusiast setup their fans? I did a little picture on paint to show how I have mine setup, I currently have 8 120mm fans in my thermaltake mid tower. Not sure if that's overkill, and that's not including the one my PSU has and my 2 gpu's both have 2 small fans built in of course.

Actually right now the top fan are just keeping the heat in the middle, because you got 3 sides all sucking in to the same spot while...

I should mention 2 of my 8 120mm fans are atatched to my dark knight II CPU cooler, so I guess you can count those out. I have 1 exhaust fan on the back, 2 intakes on the front, 1 intake on the bottom, 1 intake on the side and 1 intake on the top.

switching my top fan to outtake wont interfere with my air flow straight to my CPU? By that I mean I have a fan in the top front of my case sucking air in, sending it straight to my CPU where my CPU then sucks it in through the 2nd fan and expels it through the 3rd fan, and finally out the back through the 4th fan. basically like this <-- | <--CPU<-- | <-- If I make the top suck air out instead of in, won't that interrupt my airflow to the CPU?

Actually right now the top fan are just keeping the heat in the middle, because you got 3 sides all sucking in to the same spot while only 1 side suck out, heat rises, and so the top fan should suck the hot air out that is rising. Wouldn't it make more sense to have your front bottom, and side to suck the cold air in front the ground, since cold falls. Then use the top and rear to suck the hot air out since heat rises.

Edit: If you got cold air coming through side, bottom, and front, top and rear to suck out the hot air, it'd keep the air flow better. Rather than having 3 sides all sucking in, the air from the top fans right now are like conflicting with the air that's suck in from the bottom, and so the air can't get through, keeping the heat in the middle.
