I need to format this USB in order to use it (windows says I need to format it in order to use it), however I can't because it says it's write protected.

I have tried to change write-protection with

  • ■ Command prompt (disk list, chkdsk, etc.)
    ■ Editing the registry
    ■ Downloading programs (mUSB fixer, the patriot usb tool)
    ■ Command prompt through shutting my computer off and pressing F8 (forgot what it's called, sorry)
I'm not sure what else I can do. I can't access it because it needs to be formatted apparently, but I can't format it either because it's write protected. It doesn't show up in any of the programs I downloaded, and when I try to double-click it in MyComputer, it says that the drive can't be accessed due to corruption.
