First off this is my first post so I apologize if this is in the wrong thread.

Hey, I am about to upgrade my graphics card and was wondering how a 290X would preform in WoW with 3 1080p monitors.

PC specs (after upgrade):
Intel 4770K
Asus M6F
r9 290x
16g 2133 ram
and about 18 500g ssd's lol (call me crazy >.>)

I have a feeling 1 290x might not be enough to run it on ultra, but how would medium be? In raids as long as i'm getting about 45fps i'll be happy. That's ignoring the low fps most people get right on the pull.

Also, if 1 card isn't enough for it would eyefinity 1. Let me play in fullscreen windows on just the center screen? 2. If 1 is a yes, would it make my outer 2 monitors be black? or could I still see what is on them while i'm playing?

Lastly a basic eyefinity question. I've been using nvidia surround for the last 2 years and it seems to have a few design flaws. Like the taskbar bugging out on the outer monitors from time to time. Or the hover over live view of minimized applications. Does Eyefinity have any weird issue like that? Or anything at all really? I've heard that eyefinity is miles ahead of nvidia surround in none gaming workloads. I just need a bit more info about it from someone that uses it as a "daily driver"

Thanks ahead of time guys, tom's hardware has been my go to place for tech help for ages!

the R9 290X is a mighty card, it'll run three screens with ease. Eyefinity can have issues but from the sound of that, not that I'm aware. I have never had troubles in the past or had a good post describing a big issue with it. It should be able to play ultra on three screens and if it can't, just tone down the settings to suit. WoW isn't be best of programmed games so it often needs more beefy cards then it really requires, you should be fine.

With an eyefinity setup, it will let you play on all three and not just the centre.

Thanks, umm but let's say later down the line in WoW patches eyefinity has a bug. Would I be able to just play it on the center screen while keeping my desktop in entended mode?
