Hello, I am new to PC building and have been going through things with friends to see what I can come up with. I listed things that are already in consideration but would like more expert advice. Thanks :)

Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: this week

Budget Range: £900 - $1400USD

System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, streaming, watching anime.

Are you buying a monitor: No as I already have one i'm looking at

Do you need to buy OS: Will be re-using an window 7 disc

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: amazon, ebuyer

Location: City, State/Region, Country - UK

Parts Preferences: prefer AMD

Overclocking: Will not try to overclock as its first PC and I have no experience

SLI or Crossfire: Not until a few years later back maybe

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Would like to play battlefield 4 with standard fps and normal resolution. I do belive the parts that I am considering is already overdoing it. But I would like a PC that I can keep for a few years without the need to upgrade it. So currently, I am picking parts to allow me to game for a few years.

Parts already into consideration:

Motherboard - Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 Motherboard (AMD 990FX, 4x DDR3 RAM, SATA 6GB/s, ATX, USB 3.0, MemOK!, Network iControl, Multi-GPU Support, Socket AM3+)

CPU - AMD FX8350 Black Edition 8 Core Processor (4.0/4.2GHz, 8MB Level 3 Cache, 8MB Level 2 Cache, Socket AM3+, 125W, Retail Boxed)

GPU - Sapphire AMD R9 290 TRI-X OC Graphics Card (4GB, HDMI, PCI-E)

SSD - Crucial CT256MX100SSD1 256GB MX100 SATA 2.5 Inch 7mm SSD Includes 9.5mm Spacer

RAM - Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9 Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600 Mhz CL9 XMP Performance Desktop Memory Kit Black

HDD - WD 1TB 3.5 inch Internal Hard Drive - Caviar Blue

CPU cooler - Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO (120mm)

Power Supply, I have been considering either a 750W bronze, or 650W gold:

Corsair CX750 Builder Series CX 750W ATX/EPS 80 PLUS Bronze PSU

Corsair CP-9020054-UK RM Series RM650 80 Plus Gold 650W ATX/EPS Fully Modular Power Supply Unit

Please let me know any advice you have. Also if you have time, if they are compatible as I'm not too sure how it all works out together. Have not decided on a case properly, but an idea would be

Computer Case - Cooler Master HAF 912 Adv with Window Side Panel, Enhanced Edition USB 3.0 ATX Case RC

Thanks for all your help in advance. I look forward to hearing your replies.

Well that setup will do everything you want currently :) You could save a little on the motherboard by going for the Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 if you do intend to go for a multi-GPU setup in future and don't need the extra features of the Sabertooth, or if you're just going to stick to the single video card, you could just go for a Gigabyte 970A-UD3P.

As for the PSU's you've been looking at, they're both regarded as pretty mediocre although I have never had a problem with the RM series in any of my personal builds or any rigs I've built for customers and I actually really like them, but they do use Chinese secondary capacitors, you can't go wrong with a Super Flower Leadex Gold 650w or an EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G2 though :)

Hope You're gonna like it. What Your friend chose You is nowhere close to what I built, it has weaker CPU [much weaker], weaker graphics card [in most of the cases :)], better SSD, better storage, and better PSU, more reliable [in CX case he chose].

I don't see anything to comment on.

Everything seems to fit, gfx card is 250mm wide right? And case has allowance for 270mm.
Cpu-cooler is less than 175mm in height.

It's an excellent motherboard and the rest of the system seems balanced.

In terms of wattage, as long as you dont Crossfire, you should be fine. Not sure about the models. Corsair has some bad PSUs and some really good (Different manufacturers, corsair is just a brand).

For streaming, AMD is better in certain conditions.

Yes it is, because it has more physical cores. The massive problem is, that even 8 core Vishera can't keep up the breath powering up the games. Game won't take more than 2-4 cores, where every single Vishera doesn't go up from Pheonm II X4 965, pure-performance wise. And that's a huge trouble, because when someone powers 290 Tri-x or GTX 970, one needs massive CPU performance per/core, not per core-count. So streaming indeed might be "better" on AMD, but gameplay isn't, in any case. And good i5 or i7 can run both. Built many streaming computers based upon i7 cpu and they all work just fine.
