Multiple computers accessing wifi.

I recently built a computer. I put trendnet wireless PCI adapter in it to connect to wifi. Now when I connect the computer I just built to the wifi the other desktop's connection slows down really badly. The router says linksys on top of it. What do I do to make it so both computers get good wifi signal. Also it's in a closet. Anything would be helpful!!!!!!!!! Thanks!!!

Is the router old? If so, you may need a newer, higher rated speed one. Two PCs shouldn't be causing issues unless there is something wrong.

Greetings, if by any chance You're cloning Your MAC adress on Your router, turn it off. If viable, set static iP adresses. Can You post model/type of Your Syslink router? You can also use Xirrus Wi-Fi inspector, to dedicate the best channel for You.

MAC cloning is a function, used when You need to authorzie to iSP, or some other reason. Sometimes it's enabled by factory defaults [not really sure why they do this] so You need to disable it.

Static iP adress is the one that's set permanetnly on the device, and doesn't need DHCP, though, You need static DNS in order to use static iP adress with Your router. E.g. if Your iP adress of router is 192.168.0.1, set Your static DNS 1 to 192.168.0.1, static DNS 2 192.168.0.2, and static DNS 3 to 192.168.0.3. There You'll be able to asign static iP adress to the device You're using, and it will cause less trouble, as when it's iP adress is being assigned by DHCP on router.

I actually have no clue if I am cloning or not. Is there an easy way just to make it so that both computers are getting enough signal so that they can access internet without problems.

Yesterday I was by client, and had similiar issues. I simply turned set all of his devices [about 5 cellphones, 4 computers, and 2 extra routers on main router] to static iP, and it worked like charm, without any issues. Btw. You have trouble with signal? How's Your signal strenght now?
