How much can I overclock i5 4690k with noctu nh-d14

I want to buy the motherboard Asrock extreme4 z97, noctua nh-d14 and xfx core edition 600 w how much will a be able to overlock my i5 4690k. .... to 4.2 maybe?

The Maximus Hero VII and ASRock Z97 Extreme4 are both brilliant boards for overclocking, The Maximus has an 8+2 digital power phase whilst the Extreme4 has a 12+3 phase. Can't go wrong with either :)

Theres no way anyone could anwser that not every i5 4690k chip is equal some may overclock to 5ghz some may not overclock at all it depends on how well you did in the silicon lottery. If you got a decent chip then yes it should hit 4.2ghz no problem.

This chap here was able to OC i5 4690k to 4.4 GHz on DH14. However, plz keep in mind that every single chip has different overclocking potential so how much your particular chip will overclock can't be ascertain accurately. But, guess is it to be near 4.5GHz and if you are lucky then you may be able to go beyond that. Remember, any overclock over the stock frequencies is a good overclock. So, don't hold back if it is 4.2 or so bcz it is still good. Which mobo you are using. your luck would be charming if it is Hero VII
