Hello, I need some help with selecting graphic card. I brought i7 4790k and GIGABYTE GA Z97x UD5H, but i could not decide which graphic card should i get. I have a friend suggested me that buy and use a gtx 970 for right now, wait for the 1000 series come out, then buy another gtx 970(price should be decreased by that time) and make them SLI. I would if this is a good decision. If not, should i get a 970, which saves some money for future upgrades, or should i have 980, which can save some money by "last a little bit longer" than 970, or 780ti, which somewhere between 970 and 980.
Thanks for helping.

The 980 is not worth it as it costs ~200$ more than the 970 while only being faster by around 10%. The 970 is the ideal choice here, and as your friend said, you can get one now and another one later on when rices have dropped. I would suggest this card:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card ($351.98 @ Newegg)
Total: $351.98
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Hello zeyuanfu,
Thanks for your reply. I have one more question, how about 780ti? Some cheaper 780ti is about 100 dollars more expensive than 970 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814125489&cm_re=780ti-_-14-125-489-_-Product), and many people are saying that 780ti has very close performance compare to 980 (if do not consider how much power it uses", therefore, would 780ti be another choice?

The 780 Ti wouldn't be worth it. The 970 is on Maxwell, while the 780 Ti is on Kepler. Maxwell uses its resources differently, so it consumes less power while being more efficient. Also, in the future, 780 Tis will be scarce, so you probably won't find one to SLI. Also, the extra 100$ can be put towards a 250 GB SSD:
PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($109.00 @ Amazon)
Total: $109.00
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available
