Update:

I've decided to use TomThePotato's list, but I've also taken SioWolf's advice and swapped out the recommended hard drive for the 256GB version of the model. This is what I'll be using in my build.

------------------------------

I'm looking for some advice on the list of parts I've choosen. This will be my first build, so I wanted to get some insight from some more experienced builders.

Approximate Purchase Date: Ideally Cyber Monday, otherwise throughout the month.

Budget Range: Around $1500

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, Graphic/Web Design, Video Editing (Rarely)

Are you buying a monitor: Yes

Do you need to buy OS: Yes

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Additional Comments: Some of the software I plan on running includes Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator. Some games for reference would most likely be along the lines of Far Cry 4, and Witcher 3. I already have a mouse (Razer Deathadder 2013). I plan on getting a second monitor in the future when I have some extra funds.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I'm looking to get into PC gaming and want a good rig for my budget. I do also plan on doing some graphic and web design in this machine as well, and on the rare occasion editing videos.

Here's the parts I've choosen:

The Corsair Cs450m isnt the best of power supplies and I wouldnt use it on such an expensive build myself, plus you will need a little more power when you overclock IMO. Someone should be along with a better PSU deal for you.

You will also need a CPU Cooler. The stock one wont do for when you are ready to overclock.

Please verify the gtx970 will fit in the 932adv case. The gigabyte version is a bit longer than the others. It fits fine in my amd edition 932 so I suspect it will be fine in yours also.

Newegg has the 4790k also at $300 and you may want to avail yourself of one of their bundles such as the intel gaming bundle:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1715924

{All 4790k bundles: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductCombos.aspx? Item=N82E16819117369&SubCategory=343&SortField=0&PageSize=10&page=1 }

I did see the blue 932 advanced as one of the bundles but not the red.

+1

Note: a 120gb SSD will fill up fast. I highly recommend getting a 250gb or larger.

Looks pretty good to me. I appreciate the help. :)

Probably a good idea. I managed to find the same model as TomThePotato listed at 256GB for about $40 more. Probably worth it so I can run some more programs off of it.
