I would like to 'safely' try to overclock my CPU. My system includes...

Mobo: M4N68T-M-LE-V2
Bios: AMI ver 0702
CPU: AMD Sempron 140

I need help/info for what settings in the BIOS have to be changed.
Any help appreciated. Thanx

In fact its not that pointless. Lets be honest that processor is old and doesnt have the power to play new games smothly but it doesn't mean you have to settle with it just like that. The sempron 140 has a second core that can be unlocked which means it will become a dual core processor, in this case once its unlocked it will be recognised by the bios as an athlon II X2 @2.7ghz and it can be allways overclocked in dual core mode, some chips get to stay stable at 3.7ghz. Taking a look at your mobo im seeing its an asus board with core unlocker feature so if you get lucky you could transform that sempron 140 into an athlon II X2 and overclock it to 3ghz or maybe 3.5 or more. If in fact you get to succesfully unlock your sempron be ready to change the cooler to a better one because turning it to a dual core and overclocking it will cause more heat that it normally would. I dont really know how your bios works but you can allways check the web and other forums for the info you need to get the most out of your processor. Good luck.

Thanx for the reply Wopelao. Yes, I know its an old CPU, he he, but I dont play games anyway and would just like a bit more speed in general. If a CPU has the potential to run faster, why not?
