A bit of a silly question and I'm sure it's just my OCD flaring up.

When you're replacing a new video card is it better to leave the tower case standing up right or lay it on its side? I have a hard drive and a SSD already in there so I'm mostly worried about losing data if I tilt the hard drive and SSD.

Obviously I should disconnect any power before hand so the hard drive and SSD will not be on.

Solution
Ditto the above.

If the computer is off, the data on the HDD and SDD will be unaffected by tilting. (The SDD would be fine even if it were on, the HDD probably so but it's always wise to be careful.)

Consider how much a laptop gets tilted and turned when it's turned off. You'll be fine, and it'll make installing the video card easier and safer.
