So, to start with, here are my specs:

  • Motherboard: ASUS A88XM-A
    CPU: AMD A10-7850k APU
    Memory: F3-2400C10D-8GTX
    GPU: Sapphire Radeon R7 250 1GB GDDR5
Hard Disk : Western Digital WD10 EZEX-22BN5A0 SATA Disk Device

So, here's the issue: The RAM is rated to run at DDR3-2400, but no matter what I do, the board will only run it at 1600 mhz. I've tried D.O.C.P. profiles, I've tried manually setting the frequency and timings in the BIOS, I've tried updating the BIOS, I've tried placing the sticks into different slots, but in spite of all this, the board continues to just flat-out ignore the settings I've plugged in. I specifically purchased this memory because it's listed on ASUS's QVL. Essentially, ASUS has said that this memory will run on this board at 2400mhz dual-channel. I'm still fairly new to custom builds and tweaking settings in BIOS, but from what I've read, this should be working.

So what gives?

I've got one sent, I'll update the thread on how that goes.
