So i have win7 Home Premium 64bit installed, and it only recognizes 4gb of my 6gb's of ram. I've seen a few threads like this on here but haven't come across any that seemed to solve my problem (or at least gave step by step because i barely know what im doing). I don't know how to check in BIOS to see what it recognizes either.
Yes, i have reinstalled Win7, no didnt solve it.
Yes, i put the ram into different slots, didn't solve it.

Computer specs are:
Intel i7 960 @ 3.20GHz
GeForce GTX 550Ti

I do believe thats all the specs needed to help me with my problem. I built this computer with my ex so what knowledge i have is limited so i apologize for my noob-ness.

They are all specifically:
G.SKILL 6GB (3 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Triple Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ

And my motherboard is specifically:
ASUS P6X58D Premium - motherboard - ATX - LGA1366 Socket - X58 - LGA1366 Socket

So no, i am not mixing ram.

Are you sure you are putting the RAM in the correct slots? All your RAM need to go into either the Blue slots or the black slots. you cannot put them Black-Blue-Black. It has to be Black-Black-Black or Blue-Blue-Blue.

Yes. I've had them in all of the blue and black slots, they are currently in the all the blue slots. Yes, they are all properly pushed in, i've checked them at least 15 times (literally) and it has made no difference blue or black slots. No i have never done the blue black blue or anything like that because i figured you had to put them in all the same color.
