Here is what I have found personally to answer this question. I asked and searched and no one seemed to know, so I took the gamble into my own hands, hopefully now to help you for next year and many years to come.

I purchased all my computer stuff building a new system on black Friday with the concern that cyber Monday would have better deals. No one seemed to know this answer. Well it was good for me to purchase right away on black Friday for a couple of reasons.

Many of my items are now sold out on Cyber Monday and no longer available. So if you wait, you take the risk of losing out on your choice picked items as well as the best items from black Friday.

Secondly, surprisingly, the majority of items are still on sale, but about $10 to $20 more expensive on cyber Monday. The RAM I got was $66 and now on Cyber Monday its $86 and just sold out.

The other half of my computer parts either stayed the same price or got more expensive. I didn't see anything cheaper. The only thing I noticed was I got a coupon code for 5% off on my entire order. 5% off really? Its better than nothing, but due to the increased prices on Monday, I still would have paid more even with the 5% off.

So let this be a lesson to ya. Go black Friday, because cyber Monday seems like a publicity stunt to continue sales in the black, but really deals aren't as good. Glad I could test all this for you guys.

Solution
Nov 27 - Samsung 840 EVO 250GB + Far Cry 4. $110

Like a fool, I clicked on the Newegg buy, instead of my usual go-to Amazon Prime at the same price.
1 week later (4 Dec), no drive....grumblegrumble.

This was more of a "Sharing my experience" than asking the question. Although, I would love to hear your opinions and your experiences on this topic as well. Thanks. I hope my experience can help some in the future.

I've noticed the same thing. The best deals were black november (pre black friday). Still lots of good sales on black friday. By cyber monday, most of the things on sale were sold out if they were good quality, the rest was like a bargain bin grab bag. Now I just received an email from newegg for a 'new' sale - cyberwinter now. I almost roll my eyes, black friday turned into a month long black november.. cyber monday was introduced, was extended by many places to cyber week and now cyber winter.

Hard to predict, I think sales pro's watch our reactions and read forums. They watch our purchase habits. If they convinced us the 'best' sales were going to be before actual black friday this year, and they made good on those promises - then they may use it to their advantage and trick us with early sales next year and hold out the good stuff for black friday or even cyber monday. Just so consumers don't get into the habit of making all their key purchases up front and begin to ignore black friday and cyber monday.

In the end it's a roll of the dice. This year, I was hesitant to buy the i5 4690k in case the price came down. It was at $209. I waited too long and the price went up or it went out of stock. I saw it at $214 and jumped on it thinking it would run out of stock again. Instead it dropped to $209 again from several vendors and I overpaid $5. I still saved off the full retail.

The best price on ddr3 before black fri (pre sales) was $66 for 2x8gb 1333 ram. On black friday, a different brand became available, ddr3 1600 and cas 8 vs cas9 - for $59.99. I should have waited.

Picked up a 240gb ocz vector 150 ssd on special for $60 on thanksgiving right before the black fri deals hit from tiger direct. They didn't last long and were soon sold out and soon as black friday was over, prices all over the net for that particular drive jumped back to $159. They've dipped as low as $139, but right now they're going from $159-$235.

It just depends on the vendor, the moment, the product - a big roll of the dice with last minute sale items and flash sales. Hard to say any one day was really better than the other or be able to predict how it will play out next year. That's the advantage the sales crews have over us. We can't read their gameplan and with the internet's ability to update within minutes they can hit with a deal of the century sale at any given time or take it away again just as fast. Like a virtual revolving 'doorbuster' to keep luring buyers.

With the rapidly changing prices for PC components even without the holiday sales, id say it really just depends. Alot of the prices go up as the stock of certain items gets lower for supply/demand reasons. There are great deals online all year long, i feel there are just alot more "deals" during black friday/cyber monday. Id say more importantly than when is where. Make sure you are checking at least3-4 sites(newegg, tigerdirect, amazon, ect) because as synphul said their sales teams change it all day every day depending on when things go out of stock/new products being released, ect.

This may prove helpful for others who are shopping online through sources like amazon, not just on black fri or holiday sales. I've noticed it with several e-tailers but with amazon especially. Double check the price of the item. Prices tend to change all the time, more around the transition from weekdays to weekends. On just about any item from household, bedding to electronics and tools. One moment the price will be $24.95 for instance - either make a note of it or leave the product page up. Come back in a few hours or a couple days later and check it again. Use the shift key (on windows pc's) and click refresh to force a brand new reload of the webpage and see if the price changes. Many times it will. It may vary from $22.95 to $29.95 or more. Once I noticed this trend, I've tested it with a few random products and realized it's a perpetual rollercoaster of pricing variance. If you shop online often, a little patience or scrutiny could mean the difference between saving or overpaying $10-20 in just a couple of purchases.

for me if I need a part I can safely say it will be at its guaranteed highest price no matter what day it is .. I see parts regular price cheaper then these so called sale prices .. like this board I was wanting it was 159 then like 3 weeks ahead of blk. fri. it went up to like 200 then for the sale it was 179 .. if you don't trend what you may want you don't really know if its a deal or a rip ??
