Is a 970a motherboard good for the AMD FX 8350?

I want to confirm that the gigabyte ga-970a-ud3p is good for the AMD FX 8350. On newegg, it says it has 8+2 power phase design. Is it good, if im not gonna overclock?

I might go with a i5 4460 because of VRM cooling, and from what it seems, less problems. Is this a good idea? Could you also recommend a motherboard for around $60 or less? Im only gonna be gaming.

hey, someone just said they are getting a i5 and using the integrated graphics with some high speed ram until they can get a gtx 970.

seems like a good idea to me.

The Gigabyte UD3 or the UD3P are the 2 best 970 boards with both having a 8+2 power phase design.

It would net you a much better gaming pc with a Intel cpu but you can match a 8350 with a mid range gpu like a r9 285 and be fine most of the time.

Im planning on getting the AMD FX 8350 and the GTX 970. I want to go with 8 cores so Im more prepared for the future of games, because games are now gonna be utilizing more than 4 cores. Even though Intel multithreads their processors, physical cores are overall better. I know with games like Far Cry 3, I wont get as much performance, but i think in the future that will change. Do you think the same? Do you think my pairing is good?

The gtx 970 just demands more cpu. What is important for gaming is ipc and FX cpu's are just way behind.

Ive seen the video and the results dont seem legit. when i first watched it i though it was just insane...also, he didnt even OC the amd fx 8320, but called it an 8350. Lastly, he is using the i5 4670k, which i cant afford. i watched a benchmark earlier and the fx 8350 lost to the i5 4460 in games, so im torn on what to go with, for reasons i stated earlier. What is ICP, BTW?

if you cant afford a i5 and a gtx 970 look for a a good deal on a r9 290.. Gigabyte Windforce or Sapphire Tri-X are nice.

ipc is instructions per clock cycle and it would take a lot of typing but the extra cores and higher clock of the 8350 mean nothing. intels cores are just much more powerful.

ok. The 3570k is around $190, and a motherboard would be expected to be around $60. The gigabyte board in my build now is $100 on amazon, and the 8350 is around $140. If you recommend a 60 dollar mobo, i might be able to fit it into my build...

In my current build (i dont actually own it, its a hypothetical build, before i buy) i have the Gigabyte GA-970a-UD3H and the AMD FX 8350. This perfectly fits with the rest of my build. If you could balance a Intel cpu and motherboard for the same price, id gladly go intel...

it had me stuck on a build i helped with yesterday and had to use ccleaner but anyway you will be able to upgrade to a new broadwell cpu next year.

No problem.. I gotta tell ya some games really hate AMD cpu's and I did not know that when I built my first pc and my favorite game was horrible even overclocked.
