The Specs: I have a desktop pc from 2011, the OS is Windows 7 Premium, I believe 64 bit. I replaced the old motherboard with a MSI Z87GD65 Gaming along with the CPU to being either an I 5 Pentium processor or I 7 and a 600 watt power box along with a new tower. So basically I built a computer kinda from scratch. The hard drive is the same.

The problem: Whenever I turn on my computer, it shows the MSI loading screen then it goes into the Windows loading screen and it freezes every time the little light things forming the windows logo connects, then quickly flashes the Blue Screen of Death (or Stop Error if we want to be technical) and then it shows the Windows Error Recovery. It does this every time I turn on the pc. I have tried Start up Repair, even that does not work and now I can't even use Start up repair since it fails to launch (after trying solutions via the internet). And I can't start Windows manually since it would just turn off the whole system.

Help?

How do I reinstall Windows? Is the installation normally found in the motherboards? Does it matter what version of the installation? or could I do Windows 8 even though before it was 7. Would the hard disk be affected if I try and do 8?

Sorry, I'm kind of a newbie when it comes to this stuff...

Backup and clean install is needed.

To install Windows 7 using the Custom option and formatting the hard disk

To format your hard disk during Windows 7 installation, you'll need to start, or boot, your computer using the Windows 7 installation disc or USB flash drive.

Turn on your computer so that Windows starts normally, insert the Windows 7 installation disc or USB flash drive, and then shut down your computer.

Restart your computer.

Press any key when prompted, and then follow the instructions that appear.

On the Install Windows page, enter your language and other preferences, and then click Next.

If the Install Windows page doesn't appear, and you're not asked to press any key, you might need to change some system settings. To learn how to do this, see Start your computer from a Windows 7 installation disc or USB flash drive.

On the Please read the license terms page, if you accept the license terms, click I accept the license terms, and then click Next.

On the Which type of installation do you want? page, click Custom.

On the Where do you want to install Windows? page, click Drive options (advanced).

Click the partition that you want to change, click the formatting option you want to perform, and then follow the instructions.

When you've finished formatting, click Next.

Follow the instructions to finish installing Windows 7, which include naming your computer and setting up an initial user account.

While I find or go buy a windows 7 install disk, is there a way I can make my other post in the CPU section as "unsolved"? I didn't mean to hit the "choose this as best option button...

I can't do Computer repair, the only repair that I can do is start up repair and even that won't work.

As for the link, do I get a system repair installation CD? or just any windows 7 CD will do? (like the package or something)
