I have Windows 7 computer, and been using onboard audio port on the motherboard for music thru 2 desktop 5 watt speakers.
I bought new speakers (Creative T40's) and a Asus Xonar 5.1 sound card and the quick start guide says: Before proceeding it is recommended you disable your onboard audio device in your BIOS settings.

Now here is my question, Can't I just go into Windows Control Panel, then Device Manage, then Sound, Video and Game Controllers, then right mouse on the onboard device and disable it?
That way I don't need to edit the BIOS.
What do you think?
