I just recently got a new Samsung 250gb 840 EVO SSD for my computer, here are the benchmark results on samsung magic.


Sequential Read (MB/s): 376
Sequential Write (MB/s): 168
Random Read (IOPS): 27789
Random Write (IOPS): 20308

My hardware specs:
Asus Sabertooth P67 Motherboard
Intel i7-2600k 3.4Ghz
16gb Corsair 1600mhz ram
4gb Gigabyte GTX 970
1tb WD green HDD
250gb Samsung 840 EVO
750w Corsair PSU

I connected it to the brown sata ports, updated firmware, and then I maxed optimization. Needless to say it fixed the issue. Now here's my performance benchmark:

Sequential Read (MB/s): 548
Sequential Write (MB/s): 528
Random Read (IOPS): 84350
Random Write (IOPS): 75310
