Samsung P2370HD LCD Problem - Screen is flickering with strange colors

Hello,

I'm having a strange issue with my LCD monitor. It keeps on flickering with multiple colors i.e. blue, black, white and SMPTE color bars which are usually shown on television. However, my LCD monitor does work (sometimes).

The Monitor is dead I had this with an old monitor and same thing happened I called HP and said the monitor was dead

How is it dead? I mean it's still working. Sometimes it works and sometimes it just doesn't work. I've been using this LCD for the last 3 hours without any hiccups.

from my expirence the monitor seems to be going bad have you checked the cables and everything?

I haven't tested out any other cable yet but the problem is still unknown. The LCD starts working automatically. This is how it looks right now: http://i.imgur.com/QXiGPbR.jpg

Absolutely fine without any issue. But when it stops, the problem will reoccur.

Yes this might me a wire issue if not maybe this can be your display driver on your GPU

Display driver shouldn't be a problem as this is an HDTV monitor -- tried testing it without connecting to my PC. When the monitor wasn't working on my DVI input, I connected my Xbox to the monitor via HDMI cable but still the problem wouldn't go away.

P.S. Around 5 hours have passed and the LCD is still working fine.

If I may ask, does this happen just because of the power cable or are there any other reasons as well?

usally not if its the power cable than the screen wont even turn on

Could you please rephrase? I didn't get you. Are you trying to say that the problem could be something else and not the power cord itself?

im sorry about that I meant that if its the power cable then the monitor wont even turn on its probally the wire like the hdmi or what every your using

Well but like I said, it's an HDTV. A day or two ago, I tried turning on my LCD without connecting any VGA, HDMI or DVI cable -- just turned it on using the power cord and it was still flashing the same colors.

oh I see there can be problems with the lcd than technology isn't flawless
