Upgrading to R9 270 worth it?

I'm going to be able to upgrade my GPU this christmas. I currently have a R7 250, and I want to upgrade to a R9 270 but I'm not sure if it's worth it. If not, please give me a suggestion. I am trying to keep the graphics card under $150.

It is worth it, however I'd wait for Q1 of 2015 (January-March) for the R9 3XX series cards. They will be worth the wait, and prices should drop further and possibly make an R9 280 within price range.

R9 270 (also R9 280) is the one currently. The GTX 970 is another in the higher price range, along with the R9 290 (Power and efficiency makes it a drawback however).
