where can i find retrieve old emails from my outlook

Hi,
my laptop has recently crashed because of a virus, I was told by a technician that we need to reformat the laptop, so he did. And now He installed an upgraded MS outlook, from 2007 that I was using to 2010, now I dont know where are my old emails are? can I still retrieve it? emails from the last 3 years that was saved in my outlook2007?

Hi there
If the techie reformatted and did not back your data up first, then your mail could most likely be lost, yes. Because he has reinstalled Windows and you've been using the system, the changes of doing a data recovery on that drive and finding the correct file are now very slim.
However, it does also depend on what type of mail account you have. (POP or exchange or IMAP)
If you were using a POP account, then bad news. But an exchange or IMAP account might still have that mail sitting on the server for you.
