BIOS Version H81M-P33

I received this motherboard a few days ago and was wondering if it is shipped with BIOS version 1.5 so I can use the G3258 CPU without having to update, as I have no way of doing so. Thanks in advance!

Some mobos come with a sticker on the bios rom chip. But you need to buy the mobo to see it.

I have the mobo, I can't find any stickers indicating a BIOS version. Just ones with a bunch of letters and numbers on long white stickers

So we're back to buy it and see. Ask the shop if they'll update the bios for you. And for how much.

Else go and buy an ASRock Z97 Anniversary mobo.

I'm not going to purchase a CPU just to see if it works. That's illogical. I'll just stick with the G3250.

No, H81M-P33 will not be shipped with updated BIOS for Haswell Refresh, you will have to visit local computer store or have to own LGA1150 CPU in order to update BIOS before you can use G3258.

You could look for Asus motherboard if you want to save some bucks, but make sure you look into this list: http://www.asus.com/microsite/2014/MB/New_4th_gen_Intel_processor_compatibility/

to make sure the motherboard has USB BIOS Flashback function on it.
