System won't boot to BIOS, even after replacing motherboard. Very stressed out

I recently purchased both an I5-4690 CPU and a MSI Z-97G55 motherboard to go with it, and my system will not boot to BIOS. No image is displayed on screen, and my USB ports do not work. The LEDs on my case light up and the fans on everything rotate, but no image or anything on screen.

I brought back the motherboard to the seller, they tested it and said the motherboard is not booting (ie dead), and gave me a new one. I installed the replacement motherboard (which had apparently been tested and given the all clear by the technician at the store), and still the problem persists. This would point to the CPU being the problem, but the technician at the store said the motherboard I handed in was dead, the likely hood of both the CPU and Motherboard being both dead is highly unlikely. This must mean that I've broken the motherboard both times while installing it in the case (Cooler Master Storm Stryker). But I followed the manual, tips given to me to avoid shorting the motherboard and such to the best of my abilities, and I honestly believe I installed the motherboard (as I have done before) with out fault.

I have read the sticky often linked in the threads similar to this, but non of the those fixes work. There are no bent pins on the CPU socket, the I/O protector is on, and there are no loose screws or cables touching the motherboard. I've tried another PSU, but the same problem occurs, so it's certainly not that. I'm thinking there's something about the case I'm installing into that's causing issue. I'm extremely frustrated, embarrassed, and stressed about this, I should be better than this :( .

I just want to know what I must of done wrong to cause this, I will post pictures of the system inside the case if anyone is interested in assessing points which could cause damage to the motherboard. Any help, ideas, and assistance is greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

Try different displays. Once I had a gpu that was not going to work with dvi ports until I connected a hdmi. Strange I know. But the case was quite similar as the fans were spinning and lights were on.

I've tried two different displays, different display ports, and different display media (HDMI, VGA, DVI) no luck. Thanks for the suggestion though

Hmm, sorry to hear that. Sadly I have no other guess..

Can't you have the store to build it? Maybe you miss something obvious that they don't, like me when I forget to switch on the power supply in the wall and don't know what the hell is wrong for a good 5 minutes :)

I've decided to take out the
motherboard and CPU and put back in my old motherboard and CPU. Unless these components have been damaged during the process of their previous extraction, then this should awnser whether or not there's an issue with my case short circuiting my mobo

Plain I5-4690. I bent some cpu socket pins when taking out my CPU on my previous board. It was dumb and a result of rushing, but it's fixable. I'll get back to anyone watching/posting in this thread once I've fixed the issue, and got my old system running. My original motherboard also has LEDs indicating the stage of the boot process, allowing me to do better trouble shooting than on the other motherboard, so I'll at least gain some information even if fixing the pin doesn't work.
