  • ■ casing: NZXT Phantom Series 530 Black
    ■ cooler: Cooler Master silent Pro M2 1000w
    ■ motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H
    ■ Processor: Intel Core i5-4690K Boxed
    ■ Videocard: MSI GeForce GTX 780 Gaming 3G
    ■ RAM: 4 x 4GB G.SKILL Ripjaws F3-12800CL9Q-16GBRL
    ■ SSD: Samsung 840 Evo 500GB MZ-7TE500BW
    ■ HDD: Seagate Barracuda 3TB ST3000DM001

Is that a good setup? Am i missing out on something, (don't i need some other cooling system like: Corsair Hydro Series H100i),
can i improve something to make my gaming pc faster but for less money? (Maybe like instead of 4x 4gb ram, maybe 8 is enough?)
any other tips?

Thanks!

Hi there,

Firstly for cooler you listed a psu :) which is good by the way. As I see you chose z97 mobo and a K cpu you want to overclock. Then you need an aftermarket cpu cooler. The cm hyper evo 212 is the best budget cooler on the market, and with it the system is capable of achieving mild overclocks.

Oh yeah and the 16 GB ram and the 1000 w psu is overkill :D

And you will be better off with a gtx 970.

I highly suggest the GTX 970 instead of the 780, the performance for the price is really good.
4x4gb ram = 16gb which is good, not really needed today but recommened for future proofing your computer.
Also 1000w is overkill for this setup, unless you are planning to OC if not I suggest getting a 650W or a 750W.

You can also get a CPU cooler instead of the included fan, which is highly recommended.
I personally use the H100i and I am very happy with it and it's performance, there is better ones but it does the job.
