What should I upgrade on my computer?

I have been using the same computer for about 3.5 years now, and up until now I havent given much thought to buying new hardware at all. However, with recent game arrivals I have come to realize that I would benefit a lot from upgrading my computer.

I know the obvious first upgrade would be the gpu, but given the age of the hardware, I am worried about the whole "bottlenecking" effect - that upgrading my gpu would not be very effective since other components might drag down the potential of the card.
My computer hardware:

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560ti
Processor: AMD Phenom II x6 1090t
RAM: 8GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668MHz
Motherboard: ASUSTeK M5A97 (Socket 942)

If I could get any tips and suggestions to hardware upgrades, it would be greatly appreciated.

Solution
Ok
With this budget changing CPU won't effect, and no big bottleneck if the GPU is cheap
Keep your money for the GPU, it's better for you
I would suggest a Sapphire R9 280 DualX
Now we need to know if the PSU is convinient

Thank you for the quick reply.
Yes, I figured the gpu was the obvoius upgrade here. Was just worried about the other components dragging it down.

Hi again. Is there any way (without actually looking at the psu) to determine the psu wattage?

Hello
I think that the build will not eat more than 400W
500W should be enough
But look also to the quality of the PSU, some PSUs, which are labeled 500W, are not able to done more than 300W
So, what is your PSU ?
