R9 280X 3GB vs R9 280X 2GB???

I want an upgrade from my 7850 2gb and was looking at getting a better card. Should i get the r9 280x or a different card for around the same price? Any help is appreciated.

There is no 280X with 2GB only 3GB. For the price its a great card, offers same performance as GTX770 for less cash. 1080p gaming would be just fine with 280X.

Make sure you have a good PSU (550-600W), its a power hungry card.

If you are gaming on a 1080p screen then a 290 or 970 is plenty. Also, the 970 is not power hungry like the AMD GPUs.

The fact that the 290 sells for $250 hurts. The price has dropped so much. And it is a great buy. I'd get this one:
Video Card: Asus Radeon R9 290 4GB DirectCU II Video Card ($259.99 @ Newegg)

If you have the extra $100 then I'd go for this:
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card ($349.99 @ Amazon)

However, I wouldn't get the 290x. The 970 can beat it at is more efficient. Also, it runs cool. The 970 is just so damn good.
