APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Within the next 14 days
BUDGET RANGE: Looking to spend 250 before rebates or 250 after rebates. Can do a little more if it is really worth it.

USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Video games are the most important in this situation. After video games it would just be streaming on the other monitor and web browsing. I am looking for a card that can run modern games on High settings if possible.

CURRENT GPU AND POWER SUPPLY: AMD Radeon HD 6850 for the Graphics Card and the Power Supply is a Corsair CX 600W.

OTHER RELEVANT SYSTEM SPECS: Currently I am running an Intel i5 3570k in a ASUS P8Z77 M PRO motherboard. The ram that I am using is just standard sticks of ram at 4 gigs each, 8 gigs total.

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg, Amazon, wherever can net me a good deal or has a good sale.
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: United States of America

PARTS PREFERENCES: No preference on the part. Whichever will work best with my system is what works for me.

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe but highly doubtful
SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No

MONITOR RESOLUTION: 1920x1080

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Would prefer a card that will last me a long time, a nice rebate is a plus but not required.

Thanks for the help in advance!

Alright, cool! I like posts like these. Let's see what we can do.

You have a strong, quad-core processor. The Core i5-3570K won't bottleneck anything.

On a $250 budget, I'm thinking your best bet would be a GTX 760. You'd have to do some re-drivering, as AMD drivers won't work with Nvidia hardware. But, the GTX 760 is well-suited for 1920x1080 and will perform well on a 600W PSU. I wanted to say a 770, but those are just a bit out of your price range - I can't seem to find them anywhere for under ~$315.

I'll link a couple of my favorites.

-This is my card - a Zotac 760. It maxes just about every game I play with an FX-6300. I am very pleased with it.

One thing if you choose this one - don't get the 4GB version. That was the mistake I made when I bought it. The chip has a 256-bit memory bandwidth which isn't enough to handle a 4GB frame buffer. Unless you plan on doing SLI, which I see you're not, it's not worth it.

-I've never heard any complaints about MSI Twin Frozr. I built a computer for a friend recently with a 270X out of the Twin Frozr line, and it performs great. Here's an MSI Twin Frozr GTX 760.

Again, getting the 4GB version is not worth it, unless you plan on doing SLI.

I'm not sure how long these cards would last you. Future-proofing computers is tricky. I plan on keeping my 760 at least until 2016.

For a while I wanted to recommend an R9 280X as it performs on a similar level to the GTX 760 and can be found for about the same price, but I'm not sure about putting it on a 600W PSU. It'd probably be fine, but I don't think it'd reach its full potential.

Anyway, hope I helped. Enjoy your new card, whichever one you choose.
