■ Here's the build right now (priced at just under £480 as of posting) :
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/sdDM6h

AMD FX-8320
MSI 970A-G43
Crucial 8gb (2x4gb) DDR3-1600
Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 2GB
Corsair CX 500w 80+ Semi Modular PSU
NZXT S304

I don't need to spend much less, but I'd like to shave off a few quid without compromising the performance too much.

The case is the only part I'm not willing to change.

As I'm from the UK Newegg is not an option, although if you know of any websites selling the parts cheaper than the ones listed on PC Part Picker then please let me know

Thanks :)

Hi
If you can, get an after market cooler, and a R9 280, almost at the same price with the R9 270X
Get a better mobo, MSI is not adviced with the AM3+ platform

Hi, thanks for the fast response,

I however need to save a bit of cash on this build, I have every intention to install a cooler later down the line however for now I just need to save a bit of money.

Also would you recommend a non modular power supply over a semi-modular? the price difference is only £4?

I would strongly urge you to go with a different power supply. The CX series have weaker capacitors that do not hold up to the power needs/abuse of gpus and gaming. Not to say it wont work from the get go or die in a month, but it will have premature failure.

This psu is not only better but mildly cheaper: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-power-supply-p1550sxxb9

Other then that there is no where to cut cost on the build outside of the case itself.
One thing I would recommend is to get better ram with a lower cas latency number. The GKILL Ripjaws have a CAS of 9 and are only a few GBP more.
