Hello, I need to buy a new mobo and cpu with a budget of 200-300€.
I was thinking in buying an AMD FX 8320E 3.2GHz 8MB BOX SKAM3+ and the Msi 970 GAMING AMD970 SKAM3+ for 250€, I would appreciate all comments.
It needs to be compatible with DDR3 ram and with an ATI Radeon HD 5830.
Thanks a lot,
Pucky.

Solution
fx 8 cores run very hot and needs a lot of power.... also the "E" versions are underclocked ... i would not recommend an fx 8 core

i suggest a 3rd or 4th gen i5,i7 or an fx6300 (later overclocked)

if you are still intrested in an fx 8 core then here are my mobo suggestions

the gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4658#ov

asrock 990FX Extreme9
http://www.asrock.com/mb/amd/990fx%20extreme9/

both are top of the line excelent quality mobo built to run 8 core cpus and both are realy good at overclocking

If the power wasn't a problem, would you still recommend the amd fx 6300. I had an i7 860, an asus p7p55 lx and I never had any problem with the power.
I have an asus cooler master cm 690, so I think that the cooling wouldnt be a problem. What you think.
Thanks,
Pucky.

Hi

If no OC :
- FX 8350 : 160€
- GB 970A DS3P : 65€
- Thermalright Macho rev A (cooler) : 40€
If OC :
- FX 8320E : 145€
- GB 990FX UD3 : 110€
- Same CPU Cooler (Macho) : 40€

You need a CPU Cooler for OC (and your ears also :p)

Your PSU ?

Sorry, I forget to mention but I was thinking on buying a Thermalright Venomous X-RT 32,90€. I dont remember what´s my PSU, thats why I didnt mention.
Thanks

fx 6300 isnt power hungry and doesnt heat as much as 8 core
also modern games use only 4 cores max.. the remaining 4 cores will be a waste if you buy an 8 core

get a fx 6300 or an i5 .. dont buy 8 core.. its a waste of time , power and money

Why dont you just shut up?

Stay polite, please
We didn't told you what you will make with this, so :
WHAT WILL YOU MAKE WITH THIS ? :D
- If gaming, change your old GPU, before the CPU, and an i5 would be better, but the FX still good if the GPU is not big, and getting more cores is always good, the futures games will become much multithreaded (Crysis 3, Watch dogs, AC Unity .... )
- If is other works, like rendering and encoding, an 8 cores FX would be great, better than i5
- The 6 cores FX is an budget option

lol poor boy got pissed of because he wasnt smart enough and got drawn into the 8 core hype

i am sure you can cook an egg with your system, maybe an entire dinner course while gaming

So what do you recommend

iron8orn

Admirable
I would say if your set on AMD then a 8350 paired with up to a 280x is your best bet since modern games are scaling up to 8 threads.. Crysis, Unity, etc...

A i5 will be a better all around gaming cpu with much more upgrade ability especially since a i7 will be available to you along with a Broadwell cpu if you get a H97 or Z97 motherboard.

i5's are not limited in the gpu that they can use.

correction : modern games use 4 threads/cores not 8.. 8 cores are ideal for rendering

hahahaha .. its called marketing :)

its used to boost marketing sales :) every company does it :)

an overclocked fx6300 can take on anything right now as of december 2014

Thanks, I would consider buying a 8350 or an 8320, depending on the money that I will spend on the mobo (budget of 200-300€). So, what is the mobo that you recommend.
Pucky

I have stable 59 grads while gaming for 10 hours and i am running my CPU on 4,5GHz so...

I know this is a very late answer but as I have a 8320 together with an MSI 970 Gaming MB I can say that it works fine, but keep in find that it is a 970 based chipset. I have my 8320 overclocked to 4,4 Ghz at 1.44v. Any higher causes one of my cores to fail in P95.

Annoying things with this mobo:
- Voltage is offset, no given voltage but only + or -.
- CPU temps are regulated by CPU temps, not Package temps. Very annoying as it is the package temps which are important; so I have set my cpu fan to allow a maximum of 45c cpu temp so socket temps stay around 50c stresstesting.
- NB gets very hot on this board, google and you will find more people with the same issue. I've had to put a 90mm fan between my CM 212 Evo cooler and my GTX 970 with zipties aimed at my NB to have the temps under 80c. I have a CM 690 II Advanced case, but bought 3 more arctic 120mm fans for 3 in - 3 out configuration.

Now this is an old post but may help anyone still out there looking for this combo.
