Hello all, first time posting on this forum I hope this is in the right section. Sorry for the lengthy post.

First, I'd like to start with my setup:

mobo: Biostar a960d+ (really bad, i know)
processor: amd fx 8350 with cooler master 212 evo
gpu: nvidia geforce gtx 750ti
psu: Cooler Master Elite Power - 460W
ram: 2x 8gb ddr3
hdd: western digital 1tb 7200rpm
other: 3x 120mm led 1x 80mm led case fans, cd-rom drive

I'm running into the occasional clock_watchdog_timeout or whea_uncorrectable... BSODs, at least once every two days. I play a few hours of WoW or sc2 and sometimes just watch videos. at least 6 - 7 hours per day. I've tried many BIOS set ups, monitoring temps or fluctuating core speeds and voltages but they all seem fine. Hopefully I'm not damaging anything with this current set up, aside from a few BSODs (which I never had on my previous fx6100) it has been running pretty smooth for about a month and a half now.

I thought I wouldn't have any problems as the Biostar website says this mobo supports the 8350. But after more research, I've come to find out that this is a really bad board and doesn't feed enough power to the cpu. I'm currently looking at the ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0:

I'm pretty sure the problem is my current motherboard but I'd like to confirm that first, and maybe suggestions for a different one. Do I need a better PSU as well? I'm looking at 600w psu's and I might also add an SSD in my set up. I also don't plan on overclocking.

I've had enough lurking around and want to ask the pros here for advice before I do another upgrade. Thanks!

Seasonic is maybe the best psu builder. A high quality 400W psu is more than enough for your rig.
