One day a few weeks back when trying to open certain pictures/video/audio folders (the same old folders that I always used) Access is now denied. Folders have disappeared but can be found through search.. But can't be opened anymore. Why am I now denied access to my own stuff? I am the only one who uses my laptop, I am suppose to have access to all my own basic files and now I don't. Please Help.

(Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit)

Solution
Could be a virus, do full scan of the system with Malwarebytes and also a off-line boot CD like one you can make from AVG or Avira.

Turn on "show hidden folders" (Tools > Folder Options > View from any open folder), some viruses end up setting files to hidden, or maybe someone was messing around with settings on the computer. Once you can see the folders, right-click on them, go to Security and make sure your account has rights to them.
