I currently own an HP H9-1170 model store bought.
Specs...
Motherboard: M3970AM-HP
Processor: AMD FX-8150
10 GB DDR3
Eyefinity AMD Radeon HD 7770
600 Watt PSU

I bought it in mid 2012 and the graphics card has already crapped out on me. I'm looking into upgrading to the Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 that someone is selling for $200 used. I can't find a good website that I can base his pricing off of. I've seen ranges from $80 to over $300 new/refurbished on different sites. Is that a good price? Also does anyone know if this card will work on my computer I'd hate to buy something i can't use. Is it too big? I did some measuring and it will fit in my case but i won't have a way to support the weight other that the PCI slot. Thanks ahead for all your help.

Took a look at the specs for that card and it's saying a 750W minimum psu is required. Also my motherboard wasn't listed in the compatible hardware in the link you provided.

750W is overrated. What is the amps on the 12V rails with your psu? pcpartpicker doesn't have OEM motherboards like HP or Dell. They are proprietary motherboards so they aren't included. As long you have a PCIE x 16 slot, it should work.

Would you mind explaining how it's overrated? Sorry I'm new to buying my own hardware. I am currently at work and will take a look at the psu when I get home. Thanks again for all of your help!

750W recommendation is based on using cheap low quality psu.
A decent 550W will have enough amps on the 12V rails to supply power whilst a cheap 750W would have the same or less.
A decent 550W should have at least 42amps on the 12V rails. 40amps equals 504W on the 12V rails.

Well, hopefully HP didn't go cheap on the psu in this model.
