I'm trying to choose a power supply for my build. I hear that single rails are not safe. Is this true or not? I have an i7 4790k and MSI GTX 980 Twin Frozr in my build. My total wattage for the build is 377W. Can someone please suggest some good PSU's for my build. The case I'm planning to get is the Phanteks Enthoo Pro ATX Full Tower Case

It's not much to worry about these days. Here's a good description of the issue in easy-to-understand terms:

The oversimplified version is, if you had a really high-wattage PSU with only one rail, and there was a short or similar problem, it could reach the point where it burns things out before the point where it trips the safety shutoff. Dividing it up among multiple rails lowers the threshold and improves safety.

It's mostly a moot point these days, because any unit of decent quality is designed intelligently enough that they have thought of this, and use a rail configuration that's not going to pose a hazard and will also not limit your power usage unless you...

It's mostly a moot point these days, because any unit of decent quality is designed intelligently enough that they have thought of this, and use a rail configuration that's not going to pose a hazard and will also not limit your power usage unless you are overloading the PSU as a whole. In any single-card setup, you're not going to draw enough current to need a large power supply anyway, and single of multi won't matter.
