First, did you upgrade the computer yourself or did someone else upgrade it for you? What parts did you recently have upgraded in the computer? Is the power on and the switch for it flipped to "on"?

I did it myself. I went from M5A78L-M LX, AMD 960t, ATI 1GB 6790, 4GB G2 Patriot 1333 RAM and upgraded to: an i5 4590, ripjaw X (2x4) 8gb RAM, Sapphire Dual X 270x and GA-B85-HD3 mobo. its plugged in and the psu switch is "on"

Ok, I've had a similar problem before and have fixed it. First, check to make sure all of your cables are hooked up properly. Second, take out the graphics card and try to turn it on then. i removed my graphics card once when my pc wasnt working and it started up (card was faulty). Make sure all components are put into place tightly and securely. If you think your powerbutton could be busted, try to start your pc using a screwdriver.

Did you rub your feet really good on the carpet before picking up the motherboard during upgrade? Seriously though - let's work through this systematically. REMOVE ALL PINS from your front panel connector and ONLY connect your 'PW SW'/power switch connector to the motherboard's pins. I've taught a ton of people to upgrade their pc's and when doing a build like this one phrase that's become common is "no one hooks up the front panel pins right the first time they ever to it"

Limiting the case's front panel pins you're connecting to ONLY the PW SW - and double checking the right pins - let us know what you find.

NEXT STEP if that doesn't work: Remove everything EXCEPT the video card and one stick of ram and try it again and let us know what you find. We're trying to get fans spinning and some beeps going. If you hear beeps, we need to know what it sounds like. We also need to know do fans spin.

Your AC'97 pin is audio/mic out for a front panel headphones/mic connectors that may be present on the front panel so don't worry about that. OK now you want to pull the Power Switch pin, double check it's installed to the correct 2 pins then try to power it up again.

PLEASE NOTE the orientation of PIN1 - there is a PIN 1 indicator on your motherboard that shows you which corner PIN1 is - using that to orient you - do you have the Power Switch connected to the correct pins :)

yes im positive. let me explain this the best way I can. I look directly at the manual you got that from. So i find the pin that says "Power SW" I have it located on the row labeled "2" right next to the two empty spaces with positive lead (indicated by a triangle on the pin) on the left and the negative lead on the right (indicated by a G). Without a doubt its in the right spot.
