I know this question has been asked umpteen times, but I still can't find the answer to my dilemma.

I have a ASUS Maximus Gene V (microATX) motherboard with 2x 4GB Corsair Vengeance RAM in slot 2 and 4. I am planning to get a Hyper 212 EVO as my CPU cooler and mount it horizontally.

Example:

I am not sure if I have enough clearance for my RAM slots?

The link that Lucias posted included the same suggestion I'd make. The heatsink fin tower on it's own shouldn't be an issue with clearance even for tall ram heatspreaders, it would be the fan hanging over. Move the fan to the other side closer to the exhaust fan/io panel.

Sorry, you're right NightAntilli - when I posted the pic hadn't loaded and I mistook the wording to mean 90* from the pic shown.

Here's someone who installed a hyper 212 evo on a gene V - I can't tell because my internet's a little slow and these pics are HUGE as hell so maybe someone with faster internet can tell. It looks like they may have mounted it both ways?

Hi. The reason for my choice of orientation is because I'm doing a desk build, and my exhaust will be at the top, and no exhaust on the back.

If the Hyper 212 EVO is unfeasible, any recommendation for an alternate CPU air cooler?
