Ram upgrade for Hp DV6- 6121tx

Hi,

I want to upgrade my laptop ram with 8gb stick as I already have 4gb so please help me choose which ram will support my laptop.

Laptop Model-Hp Dv6-6121tx

Which of the following will support my system?
1)Corsair DDR3 8 GB (1 x 8 GB) Laptop RAM (CMSO8GX3M1A1600C11)
2)Transcend JetRam DDR3 8 GB Laptop RAM (JM1600KSH-8G)
3)Transcend JetRam DDR3 8 GB Laptop RAM (JM1333KSH-8G)

Other than this please suggest me if any other available.

Crucial has a nice tool called memory scanner that runs off Java you can look at it and run it here http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/systemscanner Just run it and it should tell you everything you should need to know. I've found Crucial to work very well in laptops, just take the models that they suggest over to amazon or newegg to find the best price.

Well you could of just taken the specs that crucial recommended and carried that over to that website to find your memory. But I wouldn't go with a combo like a 4gig stick and 8 gig stick, this can cause stability issues, so you would be looking at either a new 2x4gig kit total of 8GB or if you think you need more 2x8GB kit total of 16 gigs. I can't for 100% say adding another stick will just work because the two sticks haven't been in the factory together and have been proven to work nicely together. So a 2x4GB kit would be your best bet for having a working pair. I'm not 100% sure on this but if you look at the memory inside your laptop it will say replace with hp spare with some serial numbers etc... But what you could do with that is order another 4gig stick to total your memory to 8gigs, I believe if you order right from hp they will ship to India.

Hi today I got the new ram stick but the problem is one out 2 ram slots of my laptop is not working.So my question is can I insert 1 16gig stick in one slot?As hp service care say that ram slot cannot be replaced.pls help me out

It depends on the total amount of ram that slot can take, sometimes it is 4gigs 8gigs or if the laptop can take 32 gigs with only two slots available you can use a 16 gig stick. It won't destroy your computer if it doesn't work if you just try using the one stick. But if it didn't work you would need to get a refund from the place you bought it from.
