I recently build a new computer with an Asus x99 Deluxe motherboard, an Asus R9280X-DC2T-3GD5 R graphics card and the boot drive an Samsung 840 EVO Solid State 500gb along 32gb ram and several other things. After about two months of everything working fine suddenly one day in the middle of working in Vectorworks the computer crashed and rebooted with the BIOS menu. The system couldn't see my primary drive, the Samsung. It saw all the other drives but not that one. So I took the side off, changed the SATA cable, reseated the power cable and fired up. Now I could see the boot drive and I told the computer to boot to it. It got to the place where windows said there had been a problem and was shutting down to prevent damage and gave me the error of SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED. When I rebooted again the computer went to the BIOS menu and again couldn't see the boot drive. I reseated the cables, restarted and the same thing happened. I've done this three times now and the computer never finishes booting.
Do you think it's a hard drive issue, seems like it to me, or something else. The computer won't even come up so I don't know what other diagnostics I can do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you can try repairing the windows install... do you have your windows install media?

use it to boot your system and select "repair", have it automatically attempt to repair your install. if it fails to detect the install of windows i fear your hard drive might be borked. SSDs are very reliable, however that reliability is affected by bad power supplies. so i would examine my power supply before exercising the warranty (samsung has a 2 year warranty on those drives i believe).
