Moo everyone c:
Okay so, the operating system cannot be found and the internal ssd cannot be found- fair enough. I want to use the sony viao recovery discs, however my cd drive on the laptop is also broken-go figure. So I went and bought an external cd drive that can be plugged in via usb by Asus. I changed the option to boot from external drives in the BIOS but for some reason it just keeps giving me "operating system not found". How does one fix this?

Also I know it's a lot already but I want to buy a new ssd to replace the other one. If im not able to fix the laptop, is there some way I can install window 7 into the new ssd, then put that ssd into the laptop so it will boot up?

Thankyou so much for your help !

Are you comfortable enough to open the drives cover under the Lappy ? It might be the case of some loose connection between the port and SSD, it happens sometimes, as a result of that the drives are shown missing in BIOS. You can try it first. If that solves the problem then its good, else you will need a bootable media (USB/DVD) of OS. Do you have it ?

"If im not able to fix the laptop, is there some way I can install window 7 into the new ssd, then put that ssd into the laptop so it will boot up?" The Answer Is NO.
