Hiya! So I may have "goofed" but lets see if you guys can help.
I just got done putting in a new mobo ( asus to Msi) and a new CPU ( phenom x4 840 or something to intel i5 4460) and the install went seemingly fine, so no issues with that.
However I want to be able to get windows up and running again without deleting everything( no disk, however I did put the iso to get it running again if I needed it). I was prett sure there was... Some way to accomplish this but apparently it was more complex than intended. Bootin from the USB with the ISo takes me to the install proper, but I'm not presented with an option to keep original files, and I'm unable to " upgrade". Only option is custom, which will wipe the files.
Booting from the hdd mentions something beig wrong due to possible hardware or software changes, which is quite accurate . But this will just give me the option to do a system repair which, as you'd expect, doesn't actually achieve much.
I feel like I missed something simple here, as that's the usual case, but I can figure it out. I lack another hard drive so that's not an option either ( or I wouldn't be here, obviously).
