Hello.

Today i got my new motherboard which is a MSI Z97 GAMING 5, Socket-1150.
My PC case is a FRACTAL DESIGN MIDITOWER DEFINE R3 TITAN.

As the title says, the cables wont fit with the motherboard. So i can't get the connection from the case to the motherboard to work.

Will i need to buy a whole new case or can i buy some converters if that will work.

Hello Clutchc.

Yes, I did not see this problem coming when i bought the MB, CPU and the RAM, dident even know that there were different or it came different cable standard. Maybe its different cable's for each Socket, would be weird tho..

But no, the problem isent the length of the cables, the problem is that the motherboard either have to few or to many pins in the slot.

Here is an example of my problem, hard to explain but i'll try my best lets take the power to the front panel:
The pins on the plugin on the front panel cable looks like this:
3-0-1
5

While the slot on the MB looks like this;
4
5

Not easy to explain but if you look on a plugin cable you will see these holes, where the pins on the MB goes in right.
So what i just explained above is that first it starts with 3 holes, then it have a hole covered then another hole.
Am i still unclear?

Now I'm pretty sure your problem is not understanding the connections. The case's front panel connections (if that is what you are referring to) are standard connectors designed to fit standard MB headers. But you may be looking at the wrong place to plug in the connectors. Any chance of posting a pic of an example of a connector and header that don't match?

You are right Clutchc, i have stressed myself out and saw myself blind on the plugins i had. Stressfull day at work, and now i saw myself blind as the AC`97 was the power plugin for the front panel and not a audio plugin. This is embarrassing...
