I've been putting together a build for a little while now, and I've always come to Tom's for some awesome feedback. I googled my question first, but I think it was to specific because I couldn't come up with a solid answer.

I'm using an i5-4690k CPU with an ASUS-Sabertooth z97 Mark 2 MOBO
I had my mind set on the Kingston Fury Black (8x2) RAM for awhile, but I stumbled on someones build and a guy said he wouldn't go passed CAS 9. Well the Fury's are CAS 10.

Am I just being too picky and concerned, or am I missing something here?

Here is a link to the full build, if you see any dumb mistakes I'd appreciate it if you guys would let me know! I'm going for a black theme with Green LED's in the case (real original right?).

Anyways thanks so much in advance for the help, you guys rock.

Thanks for the quick reply, and for the PSU catch! But can I ask why you recommend GSkill? I've just never really heard of them, this is my first build completely on my own, sorry if my lack of knowledge is irritating lol. Is it solely
based on CAS 9, or have do you purchase this RAM your self? Thanks.

On the Sabertooth it says max memory type is 1866, would the Tridants still be fine even though they are 2600?
or am I just getting things mixed up here, and those numbers have nothing to do with each other? Thanks for the reply!

CAS is the number of clock cycles the RAM goes through to *essentially* get data from storage to the prongs. So, the lower the CAS, the faster data will be processed. Generally 9 is the entry level CAS measure. Anything below 9 is desirable, anything around 9 (like 10) is good, and anything above is generally not bad, but it's always nice to have a lower CAS.

tl;dr - Lower CAS = better, usually.
