Hi, as the title states I'm experiencing a problem with my PC. Yesterday I was trying to do a factory reset on my PC and I accidentally removed the power cable from my computer during the reset. I tried turning it on again and now my PC is an automatic repair loop, I am not sure what is the problem exactly, did I mess up the hard drive during the reset?

Solution
There is definitely supposed to be option to format the whole thing. It is tricky to find- I remember it took me a minute. I had to reinstall Windows as well. Start over and look for it. I do not know any other way. You can also connect hard drive to another computer and see what is on it. You can format it by another computer- if it fails, then RMA (send back) for replacement your drive. I do not think the drive is bad. The best solution would be to find how to format it- there is a way because I did it.

Make sure you dont boot with anything plugged in to USB port.

To reinstall- make sure you format your drive first, otherwise, it will create partition and leave old installation on. Just go to BIOS, select your boot priority to DVD. Insert disk and read the screen. When it gets to the hard drive formatting section, make sure you select "Full formatting", not "fast formatting". Sorry- cant remember details- not in front of it. Just read and do what it asks and make sure you format and get no partitions- your entire drive should be the partition for installation. No allocated extra sectors.

Thanks for your instructions, I am now trying to install windows 8. I get to this part where I need to choose a partition to install Windows 8, there's a system partition with the name drive 0 partition 1, size is about 350MB, Do I leave this one alone? And then theres another partition with the name drive 0 partition 2, the size is about 950GB, do I format this one?

Lets clear something: you like to install new Windows clean without preserving any files? Correct? Formatting hard drive will delete all files.

This is what you do: look for a link (it looks like a link- blue text) that will open another window. It will let you select type of formatting. There are 2 types with 2 different ways to format. You have to select the right type (not Fat 32). Make sure you apply it to whole drive, not partition 0 or 1 or 2. The whole drive. And choose how ever it called "full" formatting, not fast formatting. I have to see it to tell you exactly. Just poke it a little before you do, till you find how to format the whole thing. It is not stated clearly, but it is there.

Sorry I'm pretty new at this kind of stuff. How exactly do I fully format my hard drive? During startup? I don't want to save any files.

Select Custom Install, and when you get to the screen to pick the install location, click on Advanced.

Here you can do most basic functions as Delete and Format. Use NTFS.

This is quote from Internet. Last time I did it was some time ago- I can not tell you exact steps. Look for Custom Install option and then select Advanced.

After I select Custom: Install Windows only (advanced). It takes me to an install Window that says "where do you want to install Windows" it only lets me choose between Drive 0 partition 1 and drive 0 partition 2, I can't choose partition 1 because its too small, so I choose partition 2 and click next. Installation begins but it gets stuck at "Getting files ready for installation (10%). Also it didn't give me an advanced option after choosing the partition.
