The mouse in question is the mous 9 by at catz. It has lots of programmable buttons and is awesome but the dpi is the only problem. My alternative is the rat 3 (2500dpi) but that has alot less combustibility and the software isnt that good. This would be an all out purchase for me and i just want to know if 1000 dpi is acceptable for moderate gaming? It is between these two because all others are too expensive, the rat 5 costs the same as the mous 9 but if im going for something wired and without the software of the mous 9 i would only be willing to pay the price of the rat3 ($40 rat 3, $60 mous9)

Is 1000 dpi good enough for a gaming esk mouse?

It takes me ~1" of mouse movement to go across a 23" 1080p monitor.
I just turned my DPI down to 1000 for a few minutes, and its unbearable for me.
You could probably use it and get used to it, but I would choose a mouse with variable DPI.
